Ashley started Compassionate Cold Capping because she believes every cancer patient deserves the autonomy, dignity, and respect to choose to save their hair while going through cancer treatment. Cold capping was incredibly empowering for her as both a mother and business owner. Throughout her treatment, she continued meeting with clients and attending her children’s events without anyone ever knowing she was sick. Retaining her hair allowed her to feel normal when she looked in the mirror and more importantly it meant she always looked like “mom” to her three young children.
Cold Capping was not actively discussed with her as part of her treatment plan and she wants to change that for others. We believe that cold capping is the future for patients who aren’t willing to allow cancer treatment to take their identity. We believe every patient deserves to be treated with compassion and respect and we are on a mission to help patients endure their cancer treatment with minimal disruption to their outward appearance. Cancer already takes so much, you don’t have to let it take your hair.”
